The Kitchen is possibly the most entrancing room in this charming old house. This, the original working kitchen, retains its wainscoted walls, lovely tall windows, and its slightly creaky old pitchpine floor, now a wonderful rosy color and stained from the old hammered nails and the cooking range.

The newly installed kitchen units were hand-crafted here in the house to meld into and echo the style of the original kitchen. They are fitted with all new appliances – stove, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. A large English Country House style plate rack conveniently stores the china. A washer and dryer tucks neatly in beside the old chimney breast.

The English scrubbed pine kitchen table, with its traditional beech and elm chairs, is the ideal spot for a casual meal, a morning coffee, or just a chat with friends and family.

Antique Victorian copper jelly moulds contrast with the clean fresh colors of the modern appliances on the counter top and the bright stainless steel of the pots and pans hanging from the ceiling.

Freshly painted, clean and bright, the kitchen is superbly functional, a great place to cook and a lovely restful room to be in.
